The departments and professional staff members in areas which fall under the Dean of Students organization are here to support all students. Many students need support, advice, and empowerment from time to time. We are here to serve as advocates for you–an advocate is defined as one who supports another.
Among our four departments there are 27 faculty and staff members here to support you.
Let one or more of our teams help if and when you need something.
The Dean of Students staff shall support students and their families from matriculation through graduation by building a foundation of "Hokie Spirit" through advocacy for students, their families and peers.
The mission of the Dean of Students office is to support a thriving, holistic learning environment by encouraging courageous leadership, civility, Ut Prosim, and curiosity through providing a variety of programs and to promote students' self-understanding and integrity through advocacy and empowerment during difficult life circumstances.
